MYTHIC GUARDIANS
A work in progress, TCG. When completed and released, I’m hoping people will collect those cards and pit them against each other in matches. I’ve designed everything for this game, from the card layout, drawing the artwork, rules, and everything else that comes with it. The Mythic Guardians TCG will be an ever-expanding world and a long-term project for me to sink my creativity into.
This page will be updated once I have more to show off.
Illustrations
Illustrations are something I’ve always done. I love drawing and even took art in college. However, with this project, I really wanted to push myself to my limits, not only did I want to have a lot of different art styles. But I also wanted to try a new art style, a semi-3D render, but on a 2D canvas. This was extremely challenging at first. But I think the end results look amazing.
Packaging
designs
Every designer knows that packaging is one of the most important things about a product. It’s the first thing people see when making the choice to even pick it up. This card game is my first time tackling packaging. This means working with pre-made templates, fitting all the information into such a constrained space is definitely a challenge. As the game is not yet complete, these packaging designs are all made from Photoshop.
As the game continues to grow, I’ll add more and more variables to my packaging. I’d also like to photograph them myself using my knowledge of product photography.
Logo design
I’ve always liked making logos. They complete any project or brand you’re creating, legitimizing it. The hard part is knowing when to stop adding things. You have to take into account how small something’s going to be, if it will stand out on the packaging, and to the brand visuals you’re going for. If you want it stripped down like Apple’s logo, or have a fun aspect to it like Pokémon’s. After about 4/5 attempts, I finally settled on a logo that I really like.
